How does God Show his Love to us?

By: Jacob Parra

God shows his love to us in many ways. We can see it in our everyday lives and in the Church. God created the world and put us, as humans, in it with the desire for us to be happy. The greatest way he has shown his love is through his Son, Jesus Christ, who came to earth, lived with us, and died on the cross so we would be forgiven for our sins. God did not have to do this, but he did, showing us how much he truly loves us.

An amazing way Catholics experience God’s love is through the sacraments he has given us. In the sacrament of Baptism, we become part of God's family and are cleansed of original sin. In the Eucharist at Mass, Jesus gives us his body and blood so we can grow and strengthen our relationship with him. God gives us the sacrament of confession, allowing us to be forgiven for our sins; no matter what we did or how many times we did it, God still gives us a sacrament of forgiveness, which is true love. When we pray with others, whether it be at Church or with a group of friends, we feel his love surrounding us through the Holy Spirit.

Ms. Lizama’s Prayer Corner

God's love is always there for us, even when we sometimes fail to see it. God wants us to spread his love, and we can do this by the way we treat others. When we are kind and giving to others, we spread and show God's love to them. We, humans, are living signs of God's love. God's love continues to reach the world through God; God’s love is everywhere and in everything we see, so always keep that in mind.
