Lenten Reflections

Our Purpose

Cathedral, Lent is a time of prayer and reflection in order for us to continue to grow closer to God. In this section we aim to help our community do exactly that. Every week of lent, we will post a Lenten reflection for us to immerse ourselves in for that week. We are challenging you to follow along with us on your own journey. Strengthen your faith and submit the chapters you have read each day below, and reflect on said chapters, in order to start walking on the road that leads to our Loving God. Good luck to you all, we will be praying for you!

Week 1

Psalm 1

By: Diego Wilson

In reflecting on this passage, I have come to the following conclusion. Humans were created with a wonderful soul, a soul that acts like a sponge. Whatever we surround ourselves with fills our soul. God gave us the ability to soak Him up or soak up this world. If we choose to soak up drunkenness, lustfulness, and wrathfulness, we reflect these qualities back into our lives, and in doing so, we point our souls towards the path of destruction. On the other hand, if we choose to soak up faith, hope, and love, we begin to exemplify these Catholic values, pointing our hearts and souls toward our true and final goal, our wonderful and loving Creator.

Join Us and submit your daily chapter and a reflection to see how many chapters the Cathedral community can read over our season of Lent!
