Cathedral Commentary is a student-led newsletter where students of all grade levels collaborate to write articles about current events. Its mission is to inform and grow interest in Cathedral High School, including our sports, clubs, academics, and much more.
This journalism club includes editors, writers, reporters, and photographers, each of whom contributes to the website and the club. Commentary emphasizes giving students a platform to share their interests through published writing. Whether they are interested in journalism, literature, current events, pop culture, or other topics, they are encouraged and given the freedom to express themselves. Students do not need any prior experience, just ideas and a willingness to contribute. Beyond gaining journalism experience, members can also sharpen their creativity, collaboration, and time-management skills.

Cathedral Commentary has already published a website, full of articles on recent football and basketball games, school performances, club insights, books of interest, and current world events. Furthermore, for the 2026-2027 school year, Cathedral Commentary plans to release quarterly publications, with a set of articles published on their website and encouraged for everyone to read. Students write these articles, and student leaders/moderators edit them.
Lastly, we recently started our social media presence on Instagram, where we post reels and other content to entertain and inform. A fun fact about Commentary's social media presence: 35.5K views have been reported in the last 30 days. Although already growing fast, they hope to continue that growth and bring more entertainment to Cathedral.
